How To Plant Your Biodegradable Pot

Why Biodegradable Pots?

When you purchase a plant from Southern Exposure it arrives in a biodegradable pot! (Unless you choose the option to have it planted in a terracotta pot of course.) Here we’ll discuss the benefits of biodegradable pots!

  • We all know that there’s a waste problem in America. We don’t want to be a part of it!

  • These biodegradable pots are made of composted materials, so as they decompose when planted, they add nutrients to the soil.

  • Made with renewable energy (solar and methane) and zero waste stream manufacturing, these biodegradable pots are responsibly made.

  • Transporting plants from plastic nursery pots to a more aesthetic pot can be hard on the plant and difficult to do. With biodegradable pots, there’s no transplant shock and all you do is directly plant the biodegradable pot in your new pot of choice!

How Do You Plant Your Biodegradable Pot?

Here’s how to pot up your new plant:

1) Place a little bit of soil at the bottom of a pot that is one to two inches larger than the biodegradable pot.
2) Place the entire biodegradable pot into the new pot and cover it completely with soil. There’s no need to break up the biodegradable before potting up, and doing so could cause transplant shock.

It’s that easy!
