What To Do When Your Plant Arrives

  • 1) Be ready for your plant!

Use the tracking number to know when your plant is expected to arrive. That way you can minimize the amount of time your plant spends in a box.

  • 2) Fully unbox and remove all packaging materials.

Carefully remove all packaging materials. Most of it is paper-based so it can be recycled. The cling wrap and fabric bag are biodegradable.

  • 3) Check the soil.

Check the soil of each plant to see if it is dry. If so, give it a drink.

  • 4) Pot up your plant.

To avoid the use of plastic nursery pots we ship our plants in biodegradable pots! These pots are made of composted materials and are good for both the health of your plant and the planet.

Here’s how to pot up your new plant:
    1) Place a little bit of soil at the bottom of a pot that is one to two inches larger than the biodegradable pot.
    2) Place the entire biodegradable pot into the new pot and cover it completely with soil. There’s no need to break up the biodegradable before potting up, and doing so could cause transplant shock.

  • 5) Be patient as your plant acclimates to its new environment.

Place your plant in bright indirect light, away from direct sun as it transitions to your home.

Leaves may be bent upon arrival. They will straighten out over time. A few leaves may have even yellowed or dropped during shipping. This is normal. Since the plant has a healthy root system, new growth will occur.

Please wait at least 30 days before starting a fertilizing regimen.
